History

Established under Bartın University, which was founded by Law No. 5765 dated 22 May 2008, Ulus Vocational School initially began its educational activities in 2011 as part of Bartın Vocational School with the Department of Forestry in the Ulus district of Bartın. Following the meeting of the General Assembly of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on 4 May 2017, the proposal submitted by the Rectorate was approved, and pursuant to Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547, as amended by Law No. 2880, the existing departments were reorganized under a separate vocational school, leading to the establishment of Ulus Vocational School. Since then, the department has continued its educational activities in the Ulus Vocational School building, which is located on a 5,397.57 m² site owned by the Bartın Provincial Special Administration.

The school provides a modern educational environment equipped to support both theoretical and practical learning. The Forestry and Forest Products Program has access to two classrooms, each with a seating capacity of 40 students, equipped with computers and projection systems. The facilities also include a Plant Materials Laboratory with a capacity of 40 students, a Forestry Materials Laboratory, a library serving the entire vocational school, and a computer laboratory accommodating 50 students. In addition, students benefit from shared facilities, including a cafeteria with a seating capacity of 50 students and an on-campus canteen.

The department's educational activities are currently carried out by three academic staff members, consisting of two faculty members and one lecturer, who are committed to providing high-quality education and practical training in the field of forestry.
