Forestry and Forest Products Program

Program Objectives

The Forestry and Forest Products Program aims to educate qualified forestry technicians who possess fundamental knowledge of the forestry sector, comply with relevant legislation, take responsibility as effective team members in solving professional problems, and are well-equipped with technical expertise. Graduates are expected to apply their knowledge and practical skills to the sustainable management of forest resources, contributing to their ecological, economic, and social conservation and utilization.

Program Duration

The Forestry and Forest Products Program is a two-year associate degree program. Students may choose to attend an optional English Preparatory Program before beginning their academic studies.
To graduate, students must successfully complete four semesters consisting of 90 ECTS credits of coursework and 30 ECTS credits of workplace training, for a total of 120 ECTS credits.


Graduates of the program are qualified to work as Forestry Technicians in both the public and private sectors.
In the public sector, employment opportunities are available in institutions such as:
  • The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry
  • The General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks
  • The General Directorate for Combating Desertification and Erosion
In the private sector, graduates may work as technical staff in private forestry consulting offices, landscaping companies, private nurseries, and other organizations engaged in forestry-related activities and services.

Vertical Transfer Opportunities

Graduates of the Forestry and Forest Products Program are eligible to take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) administered by ÖSYM. Successful candidates may continue their education in bachelor's degree programs offered by Faculties of Forestry, including:
  • Wood Products Industrial Engineering
  • Forest Engineering
  • Forest Industrial Engineering
Upon successful completion of these undergraduate programs, graduates are awarded the corresponding professional titles of Wood Products Industrial Engineer, Forest Engineer, or Forest Industrial Engineer, expanding their career opportunities in the forestry sector.
